Placeholder — to be refined by the owner.
On a June evening in 2023, a small group made a decision that history has not yet finished accounting for. The collection of Vostanik Adoian — paintings, studies, sketches, the residue of a working studio — had been left in the care of a name, not a person. When that name proved insufficient, McCarthy moved.
The works crossed state lines the night of June 3, 2023. They were packed without a manifest, inventoried from memory afterward. Some pieces have since been matched to their studio originals. Others remain unmoored from their origin — orphaned works that nonetheless survived.
The collection is anchored at LostCanvas as a permanent holding. It is not for sale. It is not for loan. It will be catalogued, photographed, and presented — but it will not be sold. This is the founding pledge of the museum.
Works will be catalogued here as the collection is documented.
